Wisbech’s men in red has unfortunately lost their nine-matches in row winning streak to league second North Walsham II.
On Saturday, September 26, a hard-fought encounter saw Walsham won the match courtesy of three penalties from Jamie Hooker.
The first half ended 6-0 with the second half mirroring the first as neither side could cross the line.
Wisbech enjoyed majority possession here but enjoyed only rare breaks through Walsham’s defensive cordon.
Walsham continued the game well and saw out the 9-0 win.
Wisbech director of rugby Leonard Veenendaal said: “We made our own problems particular around the breakdown area and that’s not good enough, but we have some positives to take from the result.
“The three-week break did not help but that is no excuse, we are still top of the league and have to accept every team will come after us as if it’s their cup final.”
Wisbech 1st XV are at home to Colchester II on Saturday, kick off 2pm.
