More than 40 runners from Wisbech and Fenland joined forces to run and walk around the town to raise awareness of the #LiftTheCurfew @This Girl Can project.
Lorraine Parker and Tracy Adams, who took part, said: "Almost three quarters of women in the UK change their outdoor activity routines in the winter.
"This shouldn't be an issue, but we know it is. It wasn’t a surprise to any of us that some men on the street thought it was funny to heckle us.
"If anyone sees us running about town, maybe a respectful round of applause with a nice smile would have been better.
"We thought it would be one off but everyone had such a good time we’re definitely going to keep this going!"
They added that the group plans to organise a male allies run in the future.
