A Chief Fire Officer at Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service has marked a trilogy of half centuries in his life this month.
Chief Fire Officer Matthew Warren joined the his colleagues in the service in celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024.
This year was also a special one for Matthew, who celebrated his 50th birthday.
To mark the occasion, the chief fire officer hit an important milestone and made his 50th blood donation.
The NHS Blood and Transplant unit recently visited Wisbech Fire Station as part of their scheme to host free blood donation sessions at fire stations across the county.
It was at the Wisbech session where Matthew completed his 50th blood donation. He was one of more than 100 donors at the session.
Matthew said: "I've been giving blood for many years and am proud to have reached my 50th donation.
"It's such a worthwhile thing to do. I am also pleased to be able to donate at one of our fire stations, it's a fantastic collaboration we have that means we can both help save lives."
