A man having a cardiac arrest was saved thanks to "quick-thinking" police, paramedics and local residents.
On Friday afternoon, neighbourhood officers were alerted via GoodSam – an app which alerts them to ongoing incidents nearby – of a cardiac arrest in Wisbech.
Police attended the location and assisted the public in administering CPR until an ambulance arrived.
It was later established that the man was experiencing a potential overdose, so officers gave them naloxone, which reverses the effect of opioids during an overdose, and he regained consciousness.
"Thanks to the quick thinking of our officers, the paramedics and the public, the man is still alive and okay."
"We were in the right place at the right time."
