Staff and children at a school near Wisbech welcomed members of Steel Bones, which is a club for people with prosthetic limbs.
Pupils at Anthony Curton School in Walpole St Peter were fascinated to look at, and hold, various prosthetic limbs, ranging from ones used for very small toddlers, to adult-sized running blades.
They were left open-mouthed at one of the members, Wendy, because she has to recharge her leg at the end of every day as it remembers how she walks and automatically bends at the knee.
They heard stories of how the members overcame their operations and the many challenges they face daily.
The children were invited to make sandwiches using their non-dominant hand, and told to put their other hand behind their back to see how difficult it is only having one arm.
Then, everybody went outside to practise penalties using only one leg and crutches.
