A popular bridal studio in the Fens is to close its doors for good after 16 years.

SNOB, which is based in Manea and was previously a shop in March, will shut its doors in December as owner Sue Lovell is retiring.

She said the difficult decision was made due to a recent change in family commitments.

Consequently, she had an opportunity to relocate to another part of the country, which takes her closer to family.

"Whilst I’m extremely sad to be saying goodbye, it’s also an exciting time and I’m looking forward to early retirement, and to having time to concentrate on our own family weddings," she said.

"I am so grateful for all the wonderful messages from brides who I have met over the past 16 years, and who have supported my little business.

"I have made life long friends, even becoming a godmother and I am so thankful that so many brides have kept in touch; especially seeing previous prom girls and bridesmaids returning to me as brides.

"It has been a huge privilege to be a small part of so many weddings, and I am truly thankful to all my brides, past and present," she added.

Sue will be looking after all of her existing brides who have alterations booked, into 2025, and says that dresses are still coming in.

"I have plans in place to ensure everything runs smoothly for all my brides," she said.

Sue added that Michelle from Harvey’s of Ramsey has been "incredibly supportive, and is allowing me to carry out my fitting appointments in 2025 from her beautiful bridal boutique when necessary.

"I am in the process of contacting all of my existing brides and will recommend seamstresses to brides who purchase their wedding dress in our closing down sale.

"I look forward to helping brides find their dream dress over their next few months.

"I will continue with my bridal consultancy work and will still write my columns for the trade magazines and, although I’m looking forward to life “up north”, I will be back regularly."
