Several towns and villages across Fenland are set to be hit with weeks-long roadworks and closures.

Cambridgeshire County Council has begun its road surface treatment scheme, which will see roads across the county resurfaced. The work is part of an £43m investment to improve the conditions of road networks. 

Works will take place across March, Chatteris, Wisbech St Mary and other areas. Here is the roadworks schedule for Fenland.

Upcoming roadworks and closures in Fenland

  • Padgetts Road in Christchurch will be shut both day and night for eight weeks from September 16
  • Purls Bridge Drove in Manea will have work carried out between 8am to 6pm for 13 days from October 2
  • Ibbersons Drove in Benwick will have work carried out between 8am to 6pm for eight weeks from October 10
  • Church Road, Church End, Roman Bank and Gorefield Road in Leverington will have work carried out between 9:30am and 3pm, Monday to Friday, for six weeks from October 28
  • Benwick Road in Whittlesey will be closed both day and night for eight weeks from November 11
  • Fairview Crescent in Chatteris will be shut for two days from September 26
  • Fairview Gardens in Chatteris will be shut for one day on September 26
  • Fairview Avenue in Chatteris will be shut for one day on September 27
  • Fairview Drive in Chatteris will be shut for one day on September 27
  • The B1165 Church Lane in Tydd St Giles will be shut between 8am and 4pm on November 18
  • The B1100 March Road will be shut between 8am and 4pm for three days from November 19
  • The C71 Burnthouse Road in Turves will be shut between 9:30am and 2:30pm on November 22
