Town's brightest science pupil recently undertook an international research project at Cambridge University.
Vojini Fernando, the GCSE high-flyer from Wisbech, studied biotechnology, neurodegenerative diseases, protein aggregation, stem cell therapy, and more.
Receiving exceptional grades, including multiple Grade 9s, Fernando celebrated an exciting results day at the Thomas Clarkson Academy.
Ms Fernando was also granted full funding for the Ferry Path Education Programme, a rare opportunity for young researchers to develop research skills by working closely with Cambridge University academics.

The programme lasted for nine stimulating weeks over the summer.
Discussing the programme, Ms Fernando said: “We learnt so much about biotechnology in detail, in terms of neurodegenerative diseases, protein aggregation, stem cell therapy and so much more.
“We even had a tour to Cambridge University which was probably one of the most interesting parts of the whole course as we had the opportunity to see many colleges and explore the history of the university."
The Wisbech student found it exceptionally engaging as she got to interact with and learn from fellow students and lecturers from across the globe.
Ms Fernando said: “It was a very engaging project as well because we were able to interact with students and lecturers from all around the world.

"We exchanged our specific interests in terms of scientific research and learnt more about the world of research from the lecturers.
Illustrating the hard work and dedication she put into her studies, Mrs Lisa Tarsitano, Year 11 raising standards leader and vice principal for Outcomes, said: “Vojini worked incredibly hard to achieve the results she did and we look forward to watching her continuing to learn and impress over the coming two years.
"Gaining a place on the Ferry Path Education programme was a fantastic opportunity which Vojini took to broaden her knowledge.
"She really embodies our academy’s ethos of Transform, Challenge and Aspire."
