A care home has bagged the runner-up prize in a national ice cream sundae contest.
Hickathrift House in Marshland St James, Wisbech, took part in Barchester and Lakeland Dairies’ National Ice Cream Day competition.
Staff and residents took great delight in the challenge, designing the perfect Ice Cream Sundae to clinch £80 in vouchers and a selection of Lakeland Dairies' treats.
Across the country, residents in Barchester’s care homes and hospitals joined in the fun for the much sought-after title of Best Ice Cream Sundae.
Contestants drew upon their cooking skills and shared love for ice cream to create their entries.
At Hickathrift House, a Knickerbocker Glory styled sundae, renamed Hicka-bocker Glory, won them the second place.
The creation involved Millac Gold double cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and plenty of chocolate, with residents crafting an 'acoustic poem' about summer and ice cream living while it chilled.
