Figures have revealed patient's experiences of pharmacies across Wisbech.

The results of NHS England's annual GP Patient Survey for 2024 highlighted whether patients were happy with their pharmacies after completing a questionnaire.

Each pharmacy in the district was given a percentage for the number of patients who said they had a positive experience overall.

Patients who have used pharmacies over the last 12 months were surveyed, and the data was collected from January 2 this year to March 25.

Eighty-nine per cent of patients at North Brink Practice in Wisbech said they had a ‘good experience’ using pharmacy services – the highest in the town.

North Brink Practice was one of two pharmacies where 85 per cent or more of patients reported positive experiences of pharmacies in the town, which included Trinity Surgery.

In fact, on average patients across Wisbech reported a lower overall approval rating of pharmacy services than the national average, with a score of 84 per cent compared to the 86.8 per cent rating taken from pharmacies across the country.

At the other end of the scale, patients at Parson Drove Surgery reported the lowest overall satisfaction rating accessing pharmacy services, scoring 80 per cent.

Parson Drove Surgery and Clarkson Surgery were the only pharmacies not to achieve a satisfaction rating higher than 85 per cent.

The next lowest-rated pharmacy was Clarkson Surgery, with 81 per cent of patients reporting they had a good experience overall when accessing pharmacy services.

NHS England highlighted though that only a handful of patients completed the survey at some practices, so the figures may not reflect an entirely accurate picture of each surgery's performance.

A spokesperson for NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough said: “Pharmacies across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough offer a great range of services to local people, including health advice about common ailments, help with new and existing medications, and treatments for some conditions.

“We continue to work with pharmacy teams in our area to ensure that local communities have a good experience of using their pharmacy, and to raise awareness of all of the different forms of support pharmacies can offer.”
