A motorist was arrested on suspicion of drug driving in Wisbech after they admitted smoking cannabis the night before.

The Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team were out early this morning in the town centre when they had cause to stop a vehicle on Union Street.

On speaking with the driver of the vehicle, officers recovered cannabis and the driver admitted smoking cannabis the night before.

Following a DrugWipe, which the driver failed for cannabis, they were arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

The driver was taken to the Police Investigation Centre at King's Lynn where a sample of their blood was taken.

The driver has since been released under investigation for the blood to be sent off to be analysed.
