A popular pub in the Fens that closed due to a fire is set to reopen later this year. 

Work is due to start on Tuesday June 11 to restore The Rising Sun in Leverington following the blaze, which happened just before Christmas. 

Elgood & Sons Ltd, who run the pub, said on Facebook: "We're dedicated to bringing this beloved community hub back to life.

"Thank you for your continued support and patience. Stay tuned for updates." 

Robin Hotson, estates manager, said: "We've got everything in place so there shouldn't be any hold ups now.

"The present tenant is looking forward to reopening as soon as we can."
