A man charged with the murder of Wisbech woman Una Crown will appear in court this morning (Thursday) for a preliminary hearing.
David Newton, of Magazine Close, is in custody and listed to attend a hearing at Cambridge Crown Court.
The 69-year-old was charged with the murder of the subpostmistress on Monday (April 15) and appeared at Cambridge Magistrates Court the following day.
The body of Mrs Crown, an 86-year-old retired postmistress, was found at her bungalow in Magazine Lane 11 years ago.
Police initially thought she had died of natural causes but a post-mortem examination days later revealed she had been stabbed and her body burned.
