Students at the Thomas Clarkson Academy represented the school in an Intermediate Mathematical Challenge, and one pupil managed to reach the next heat.
Groups of students from Years Eight to Ten took part in the maths challenge, which was an hour long and had 25 multiple choice questions.
One Year Eight pupil, Michael, has been invited to compete in the individual round later this month due to his amazing results in the challenge.
Michael will be taking part in the "Grey Kangaroo" round, which is held on March 21
He also received a gold certificate from the UK Maths Trust for his efforts in the challenge.
