Two teenage boys had an imitation firearm seized when they were searched at a Christmas lights switch-on event in a Fenland town.
Staff reported to officers that there were some youths carrying knives around the event in March.
After a short foot chase, two teenage boys were located and searched.
No knives were recovered, but an imitation firearm was found.
Two boys, aged 14 and 17, were interviewed at the scene and then taken home.
They were also reported for the offence, and enquiries are ongoing.
“Apart from this, the light switch on was a great event and we hope that everyone who attended had a lovely night,” said police.
“It is illegal to carry offensive weapons. If you have any information about someone who may be in possession of one, you can report it to us via https://orlo.uk/Pe0Ny.”
