Upwell Academy children and staff were thrilled to welcome Major Anthony Gleave to the school.
Major Gleave, who serves with the royal engineers, joined reception class pupils for a special meet and greet.
He then led an informative whole-school assembly for pupils from reception to Year 6.
He spoke about his career journey and his roles and responsibilities, giving pupils an opportunity to ask questions in an inspiring assembly.
He empowered pupils to care about their education and motivated them about the curriculum through his own experiences and travels around the world.
Staff and children would like to thank Major Gleave again and look forward to his future visits.
He will speak to the upper Key Stage pupils and inspire Year 6 further with their history curriculum where they've been learning about World War.
Teresa Ellington, interim principal, said: "It was a fitting visit with a Remembrance assembly planned for this week.
"The Pupil Leadership Team will be laying a wreath at Upwell's War Memorial.
"Major Gleave was exceptionally influential and emphasized to our children that, with determination and the right mindset, you can achieve and overcome anything."
