The Wisbech Adventure Playground is to close temporarily to enable damaged play equipment to be repaired.
It will close on Monday June 5 for several weeks after structural issues were identified in some of the play equipment.
The playground originally opened in 2010 and is owned and operated by Cambridgeshire County Council. It is extremely popular with local residents and offers a number of free and ‘pay and stay’ activities.
Staff are now working hard to secure outreach services so families can continue to access a range of activities elsewhere while the playground is closed.

Cllr Bryony Goodliffe, chair of Cambridgeshire County Council’s children and young people’s committee, said: “We are sorry that the playground will have to close for a few weeks, but the safety of our children and young people is paramount and we cannot allow them to play on equipment which may not be suitable.
“We are hoping the playground will be open again in time for the summer holidays and will keep the community updated regularly.”
