Hickathrift House Care Home, in Marshland St James, Wisbech has launched an intergenerational Toddler Morning for residents and members of the local community.
The sessions are being held on the first and third Saturday of each month, from 10.30am until 12.30pm.
The residents and staff at Hickathrift House welcome groups of parents and their toddlers who live locally as well as carers with babies to enjoy nursery rhymes, games and activities with residents at the home.
The group of parents and toddlers also enjoyed a sing-along with residents.
Staff at Hickathrift House often theme the mornings to suit upcoming occasions such as Father’s Day.
The catering team at Hickathrift House provide a selection of light refreshments on the day, including cakes and biscuits.
Elsie, a resident at Hickathrift House said: “I just love watching these children play so nicely together and singing well known songs to them. I always have a lovely morning with the children, watching them play. They have such wonderful parents.”
General manager, Paula Colman of Hickathrift House Care Home said: “Intergenerational activities create a huge positive impact on the residents as well as the toddlers.
"The residents at our home love our young visitors. If anyone ever wants to stop in for a lovely morning with your young ones, we’d love to have you join us, our next toddler morning is Saturday, June 3.”
