Wisbech-based firm Anglia Components PLC has donated more than £6,000 to two charities.
The sum was raised through a range of internal fundraising events, including a jubilee raffle and Christmas jumper day, donations instead of Christmas cards and a Christmas party raffle.
The money will be handed over to the East Anglian Air Ambulance and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices
An additional £10,000 was donated by Anglia.
Steve Rawlins, CEO, at Anglia commented: “Our annual fundraising is something we are hugely proud of at Anglia.
"It’s vital that we give back to the Wisbech community, especially as so many of our employees are from the area. We’re pleased to support such outstanding causes this year with our fundraising.”
East Anglian Air Ambulance provides a helicopter emergency medical service delivering doctors and critical care paramedics to seriously ill or injured people in the region. East Anglia Children’s Hospices offers care and support for children and young people with life-threatening conditions. The charity runs three hospices based in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
As well as these two charities, Anglia will make a £1,000 donation to the Wisbech and Fenland Museum, one of the oldest museums in the UK and an independent charity, which preserves the local heritage of Wisbech for the local community and visitors.
Anglia makes an annual contribution to local charities and is currently taking nominations amongst its staff to choose the two charities for 2023.
