A new event to remember loved ones and support care for people with a life-limiting illness in Fenland is taking place this weekend.
A poignant new event which brings people together to celebrate the lives of loved ones takes place in Wisbech on Sunday. (December 4).
The Light up a Life event is organised by Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, which cares for people living with a life-limiting illness in Fenland.
Light up a Life takes starts at 4pm at St Peter’s & St Paul’s Church, Church Terrace, Wisbech.
Anyone in the community is welcome to attend, not just those touched by hospice care. You may wish to take part to remember someone who has died or reflect on current challenges you are facing.
Lasting 45 minutes, Light up a Life features music and readings of poetry and prose led by the Charity’s Patient and Family Support Team Lead, Rev Keith Morrison. There will be the opportunity to write a message on a star and hang it from the Christmas tree at the church.
Hospice at Home matron Emma Bratby, based at the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech, said: “Light up a Life is an opportunity for people to choose to come and remember. I hope it will help people to acknowledge where they are now, and also to look ahead to what may be.”
Alongside NHS funding, the Charity relies on fundraising and donations from the community to help more local people to receive care. Find more information at http://www.arhc.org.uk/lual or call 01945 669620.
